This year, students from many different countries such as Thailand, China, Myanmar, Indonesia and Vietnam prepared something special for their friends in the open area next to the bookshop. Posters on the history and culture of their home countries were printed and pasted on large exhibition boards for other curious students to read.
Student presenters also were stationed at each board to further share their culture with the other students of Hua Yi Secondary School. Some displayed products that their countries were famous for, such as beautiful beaded bracelets, intricately-woven pouches and even famous instant noodles.
Lastly, the Home Economics Club also planned a stunning display! Members of the Home Economic Club prepared famous desserts from different countries. This included the colourful Pulut Srikaya from Indonesia, the eye-catching Getuk Ubi from Malaysia and the delectable Mango Sticky Rice from Thailand.
This year's International Friendship Day was truly a different yet memorable experience!
