Speech Day and National Day Observance Ceremony 2013

The 7th of August was an extremely exciting day for all Hua Yians! Hua Yi's annual National Day Observance Ceremony coincided with Speech Day 2013.

The day began with the preparation for Speech Day. Our Guest-of-Honor arrived and students sitting in the hall were able to witness his visit to the newly completed Student Hub through a webcast. The impressed look on the Guest-of-Honor's face brought pride into every Hua Yi student's hearts, for it was their work that decorated the Student Hub.

After the different speeches that were given by the Guest-of-Honor and our principal, the students were treated to a series of stunning performances by the Concert Band, Chinese Dance and the Hip Hop Dance Club. Finally, the prizes were awarded to students who had done well in their studies the year before.

Next up was the National Day Observance Ceremony. The representatives from each Uniformed Group stood at the ready to usher the Singapore Flag in. The entire school then sang a rousing rendition of the National Anthem with pride and gusto. This enthusiasm continued throughout the Recollections, where each student participated with vigor.

The day ended with a performance by the Choir, singing "Stand Up for Singapore". It was truly a memorable day for all Hua Yians.
