Chinese New Year Celebration - 8 Feb 2013

Hua Yi Secondary School held its annual Chinese New Year Celebration on the 8th of February in the school hall. Many exciting performances were lined up for the students. Hua Yi also invited the elderly residents from Silver Ace Elderly to participate in the celebration as well.

The Lion Dance performance opened the ceremony with a bang. The lion dancers were lively and their costumes were rich and vibrant. Next, the Guzheng Ensemble put up a riveting performance which had the audience spellbound by their technical skill.

The third performance was a special one that was prepared by the new teachers in Hua Yi. They put up a short skit and created a video about the legend of the twelve zodiac animals in the Chinese Calendar. Their performance was indeed well-received by the students!

Finally, there was a singing performance by Chinese students, followed by a Prize Presentation ceremony for the best decorated class for Chinese New Year. The celebration was then concluded with a parade of mini God of Fortunes - representatives from the lower Secondary Classes, led by the greatest God of Fortune in Hua Yi, Mr Leow Guan Sin.

This year's Chinese New Year Celebration was truly a sight to behold! We hope that everyone enjoyed themselves on that grand occasion.
