Total Defence Day was held on the 15th of February this year. Hua Yi Secondary School commemorated the event by engaging in a few interesting and enriching activities. These included the distribution of READY bags to nearby residents by the Secondary One students, a booth set up by uniform groups exhibiting the five pillars of Total Defense and a competition held for the Secondary Two students.
The READY bags were distributed by Secondary One students, accompanied by senior One Advocates. They interacted and shared the importance of being ready during emergencies with residents from Block 373 and 374 in Jurong West. The residents were delighted with their free READY bags and some students were even rewarded with snacks given by the generous residents.
It was truly an enlightening and rewarding experience for the students of HYSS.
